Congratulations to Jim Kraft from everyone in District One!

Hello, my name is Jason Kahler and my Great-Great-Grandfather immigrated to Baltimore in 1891 in search of a better life for his family.  He found it in Baltimore by working as a laborer on the B&O Railroad.  Since then, our city has undergone a great deal of change and we’ve seen our population and prosperity fall.

As a concerned citizen of our great city, it’s easy to recognize the pressing need for reform and understand that a “business as usual” attitude will not afford our families with the opportunity to achieve the American Dream.  It is time to call on all of our representitives to help battle the serious issues facing our City.

As a parent raising a family in the 1st District, I have concerns like you about over-inflated taxes, high crime, and dwindling public services. As a teacher, I understand the difficulties in our public school system and the pressing need for change in how we look at urban education.  It is time to solve the problems that we all know exist.  We all want our children to have the same opportunities in Baltimore that my Great-Great-Grandfather pondered while crossed the Atlantic to start a new life.

My name is Jason Kahler, and I hope to serve my community as a teacher, a father and an active member of my community.

Baltimore for Jason Kahler
